Two Five Farm
We are a small family farm that resides in Surprise, Az. Our farm is named after our children. Two daughters Taylor & Hailey and five boys Chris, Zack, Colt, Cody, and Cade. Three of the boys are in the Service. Zack US Army, Cody US Coast Guard, Colt US Navy,
We started our farm with one buckling “Mason” that Cade and I fell in love with visiting my brothers farm. Mason was the cutest little buckling! For the longest time we thought he believed he was a dog! He would run with the dogs, swim in the pool with dogs and even sleep with the dogs. Before we knew what “Rut” was. We would laugh at Mason because of his silly sounds and smiling, showing his teeth. Then to find out that Mason is in Rut and he was gurgling his own urine…gross! So as mason grew up a bit he learned his goat ways and we had to start his heard. So we added two doe’s “Chocolate and Rosie”. Rosie is kinda the boss of the pasture. Then a year later we added “ Jersey, Jackie, and Jaz” And, 3 great pyreness “Meisha, Kelcie, and JJ”.. Ohhh the love we have for them and love they have for “their goats” is breathe taking…
We had twenty or so chickens to start with. Every afternoon we would go wrangle them up one by one to put them in their coop at night for them to go to bed, until one night we got home after dark. Not knowing a ton about chickens at the time we were so worried! where would they go? would they run away? So we hurried home, went to wrangle the chickens and realized they put themselves in the coop! We all laughed about how we would have to chase them and grab them one by one not knowing they put themselves away. Farm life is a learning process. We as a family love every minute of it.
In Addition to our farm we planted over thirty fruit trees. Peaches, plums, apricots, grapes, oranges, apples, apriplum, and limes. With these fruits we make jam and pies. One day we will have enough to share with our community..
In Time we added a lamb “ lamb chop” and cow “Llyod”. When it was time to butcher Lamb Chop, our butcher said “out of his thirty years he had seen only two lambs where the owner could go up to the lamb and grab them without having to rope them ..ours was the second”. It just show how much love and great life we give to our animals.
In process of farm life i learned how to make goat soap. I can’t say enough how much our family loves using our handmade soap. There is no harsh chemicals we are putting on our skin any more just all natural ingredients. Love love how are skin feels nourished and moisturized. With that being said we enjoy that we can share with you.
We are growing as a family, learning everyday what farm life has to offer to us and the love we have to offer to our animals..
